Last night, AFA conducted a Town Hall call updating Flight Attendants on the issue of toxic uniforms, the class action case against Land’s End, and an update on AFA’s uniform testing. Today, Delta management announced its plans to rollout a “completely new uniform program for flight attendants and ACS above-wing employees… as soon as possible, hopefully in late 2021.” The full communication from Delta is included at the end of this news update.

On December 31, 2019, Delta Air Lines Flight Attendants and other employees brought suit against Lands’ End, the manufacturer of the Delta uniforms, in federal court in Wisconsin.

The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO, representing 50,000 Flight Attendants at 20 airlines, issued this statement following last night’s travel advisory change by U.S. State Department to "do not travel to China" and the declaration by the World Health Organization (WHO) that the coronavirus is a "global health emergency."

AFA sat down with The Jet Set to talk about a series of “questions” (and their wrong answers) that Delta Air Lines pushed out to Flight Attendants this week, intended to scare Flight Attendants from wanting to gain AFA representation.
The issue “affects different people in different ways and the reactions can vary in severity with symptoms such as rashes, headaches, hair loss and breathing problems when wearing the uniform,” according to the union.
We are stronger by working in partnership with the 700,000 members of the Communications Workers of America including workers in telecom, journalism, airline customer service and ramp, broadcasting, manufacturing, public service and much more.

For over a year and a half Flight Attendants at Delta have been experiencing the effects of toxic uniforms. This is a relatively new issue in our industry, but AFA has taken this issue on and defined it through the work of our industrial hygienist, Judith Anderson.
